Hannah Duffield

Hannah Duffield joined the aviation community in 2017 while attending the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in pursuit of her Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license. While attending school she joined a 3rd party maintenance company primarily focusing on the complete rebuild and refurbishment of Dehavilland DHC-6 aircraft. Upon completing her training, she achieved her AME-S license on her 21st birthday.

In pursuit of obtaining more diverse experience, she joined the largest AMO in Canada. Gaining valuable experience on Transport Category aircraft, obtaining an Aircraft Certification Authority and quickly moving into leadership roles within the AMO, her eyes were opened to the behind-the-scenes roles that help propel an Approved Maintenance Organization towards success. Concurrently, Hannah was accepted as a director for the Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association. Hannah’s passion and energy to promote the Aircraft Maintenance profession and everything an AME stands for became apparent and shortly after was voted in as President, a role in which she has served 2 back to back terms and still holds.

Seizing a once in a lifetime opportunity in 2022, she joined a part 703/704 operator located in remote northern Canada supporting the quality department. Gaining exposure to all aspects of how an approved entity functions while reporting directly to the PRM/PRMC, Hannah discovered her undeniable passion for safety, reliability, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. Gaining exposure to the inner workings of purchasing and receiving, training, maintenance control, technical dispatch, technical records and importing/exporting aircraft (to name a few) all while maintaining the quality program marked an incredible transition in her career.

Since 2022, she has remained in roles focusing on regulatory compliance and has obtained numerous certifications in pursuit of becoming a valuable and knowledgeable member of the aviation community. Notable certifications to date include Advanced Composite Certifications (Module 1 & 2), QAM Certification, Auditing and SMS Principles Certification and various courses on the application of the Canadian Aviation Regulations for both Maintenance and Maintenance Control. Hannah continues to gain experience and work towards more certifications and is actively working on obtaining her ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D lead auditor certifications.
