The Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) Association is one of six associations across Canada, the others being Atlantic, Central, Western, Quebec and Ontario. These associations represent regional interests as well as concerns of national importance. The membership base is comprised of AMEs, non-licenced personnel working in the industry, students and apprentices, as well as corporate members. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers of Canada (AMEC), is the national body that is supported and financed by all the regional associations and represents the associations and important matters at the national level.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pacific AME Association is a non-profit organization, run by a volunteer group of AMEs and non-AMEs. Directors are elected by member AMEs to the Board for a two-year term. The purpose of the association is to maintain and enhance the standards of professionalism of the AME and the aircraft maintenance industry as a whole, and to promote the rights and privileges of the AME.<\/span><\/p>\n

The association works with and is consulted by Transport Canada in the formulation of new rules and regulations to promote the viewpoint of the AME. We are represented on various committees and working groups involved with aircraft maintenance and licensing. We support the community college aircraft maintenance programs throughout BC through annual monetary awards and bursaries. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Pre-Covid, two workshops were conducted annually. Usually one in the Lower mainland and one elsewhere based on demand and corporate requests. These workshops are run by volunteers and are single day events and feature speakers and interactive presentations on a variety of topics. Attendance at these can be counted towards the recurrent training requirements by Transport Canada. We publish periodic newsletters which contains items of current interest to our members as well as commentaries and articles on maintenance procedures. <\/span><\/p>\n

We have monthly meetings where any member is welcome to JOIN US and express their views or opinions and share with the group.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We hold our Annual General meeting AGM usually in July <\/strong><\/p>\n

MISSION STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Pacific AME Association shall always promote and protect the professionalism of the AME, while developing, maintaining and improving our relations with regulatory bodies affecting our industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

We shall represent the views and objectives of our members, while promoting proficiency through educational collaboration with other groups on matters of mutual interest.<\/span><\/p>\n

We shall promote honorable practices among our Members and others in the aviation industry, while remaining non-union, non-sectarian and non-partisan.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
